Hej Affe!

MUSTUNT II
This plan shows the fuselage of my semi-scale P-51 D, named Mustunt II, as built in 1965. The wing in this ship came from my earlier Mustunt I (a P-51-B) as featured in ”Aeromodeller” march 1965. The wing is not only identical to the wing on that plan; it
is that wing!
The sentence above means that you also need the original magazine plan (CL 878) from Aeromodeller Plans Service (no longer in business I guess) or a copy of it to build the Mustunt II.
The Mustunt II differs from the earlier model in the following respects:
Bubble canopy (of course; it's a P-51D!)
Wing is lowered 7 mm in fuselage
Lower fuselage side profile changed to more scale like proportions
1 mm ply doublers in the nose instead of the balsa doublers. This makes the fuselage 2 mm wider for better alignment to the 2” Veco spinner which was used instead of the earlier 1 ¾”. Smaller removeable engine cowl to resist vibrations better.
Flat fuselage bottom instead of hollowed blocks to save weight
Rear fuselage shortened 1 cm (don´t ask me why; I wouldn´t do so today!)
Rear fuselage is now symmetrical as seen from above
Tail wheel strut shortened to give more scalish stand on the ground
Silk covered tail surfaces instead of balsa covered
Fin shape and size changed for better looks
Note: Complete wing and landing gear assembly to be built from the A.P.S. plan. Stab is built up like the fin and silk covered; horisontal shape and size are identical to that on the A.P.S. plan but the stab is built flat with 10 mm thickness and only the leading edge rounded. Elevators are tapered though.
Note II: The fairly sensitive controls and short rear fuselage forced me to fly rather nose heavy. I definitely recommend changing the gear ratio of the control system to modern standards and at the same time get rid of the diffential flaps. Changing the pushrods to carbon fibre might also be a good idea (from what I´ve heard such internal modifications are legal in Classic Stunt?)
Note III: Fox 35 is probably no longer the only engine choice for this plane. Nor is it the best!
Any further questions and comments are wellcome at ”

This is to certify that the Mustunt II built as specified above, using my freshly drawn plan for the fuselage and the APS plan CL 878 for the remainder of the airplane, will be an exact copy of my airplane of 1965.
